You could be traveling for work, or maybe taking a break in the Himalayas with your friends. If you’re feeling a little adventurous, you could be going on a solo trip to someplace you’ve never been before. Now, traveling has incredible benefits for your growth. It contributed to the growth of your personality and adds the flavor of the experienced wanderer to your attitude. The thing is that you gotta make statements wherever you go. So, dress in style even when you’re traveling and I will be covering just that today… from packing to managing your wardrobe. So, without any further ado, let’s dive right in.
You gotta be smart with the choices you make here, you don’t want to be burdened with an extra suitcase hampering your experience and at the same time you don’t wanna run out of options too soon. The key is to balance and pack light and still look stylish while traveling.
Dress Sharp When Travelling
Now, as much as I would like to live in a world where people are not judged for how they are dressed. I can’t really complain about the way people judge people from their clothing. I mean, that is the whole point of clothing, to convey to the world who you are. Just like the cops dress in their uniforms to convey they are the authority. You gotta look sharp to convey your trustworthiness and dominance.
When a shabbily dressed man is ignored by a crowd and denied pleads of help, a well-dressed man is considered more trustworthy and worth helping. So, your dressing sense can either make or break your travel experience. I recommend that you put in a decent time in deciding what exactly you want to convey with your clothes when you travel to where you’re traveling. And that would be a good starting point to get your travel bag ready.
Now, when I say that you gotta dress sharp to be more likable, I don’t mean that you wear a 3-piece-suit to the beach. You might think that would be inappropriate for it is not common on the beach and that is a valid point. However, the truth is that you wouldn’t be able to enjoy the beach experience completely if you try to look sharp with a 3-piece-suit on the beach. Instead, a full sleeve shirt with light material and a color that suits you will do much better. I will not only be more comfortable but you will be dressed apart as well.
I am not saying that you dress in formals at the beach, the point that I am trying to make here is that you focus on comfort as much as you focus on style as it will be hard to convince someone that you’re cool when you don’t feel at your best because of what you’re wearing.
Go Easy on the Footwear
Your footwear will depend highly on where you’ll be traveling. But a good rule of thumb would be to wear something that is easily put on and off. Because nobody likes to take off their shoes a million times at the airport. Wear something like Sandals or slip-on shoes for the best comfort.
Invest in Quality Luggage
It is quite common for luggage to be tossed around and handled with not so much care at the airport. The important thing is that you invest your money in some good quality luggage and avoid cheap luggage at all costs. Good quality luggage will not only protect your clothing from wrinkles but it will also save you tons of time when you reach your destination.
If you’re going on a small trip, say just a couple of days, you can make a backpack or a small self-carry bag and avoid large luggage completely.
Pack Your Clothes Properly
It is important that you pack your items properly to utilize the complete space available to you in the luggage. You look upon the internet to read more on this topic or watch videos on YouTube. Following some good tutorials, you will be able to pack your shirts, t-shirts, jackets, and trousers in maximum efficient space utilization.
You don’t really have to worry about ironing your clothes right before you pack them. That is a sure shot method to waste your time and nothing else. Unless you carefully plan to take a particular dress well prepared and wear it right at the airport of your destination, you should not waste time ironing your clothes beforehand. Instead, try and plan your journey in a way that if you have a meeting then you reach a couple of hours earlier so that you at least have the time to check-in, relax and get your clothes in order.
Shoes can take up a lot of space on your luggage stopping you from caring more options of clothing, try to take something that suits all kinds of clothes that you package and don’t even put any footwear in the luggage if you can. Just wear it throughout your journey, in that way saving you time and luggage real estate. Also, if you absolutely love comfort, pack a pair of slippers conveniently on the side of the luggage.
